Team Croatia

 Melinda Trbojević &
Baghira Plava Noć

My name is Melinda, I live in Zagreb and I am an architect by profession, working on the restoration of cultural heritage at the Ministry of Culture. I am also a mother of two adult daughters. I spend most of my free time doing activities with my dog.

I have had dogs since childhood, mostly poodles, and I became more serious about cynology about thirty years ago when I got my first Belgian Shepherd. Since then, I have been training and competing in various sports: agility, rally obedience, IGP, FCI obedience, frisbee, and as a trainer I lead courses and training sessions at the KOSSP Zagreb club.

Five years ago, Rey, a black medium-sized poodle, entered my life and the fun started all over again. For Rey, the most important thing is to be near me no matter what activity we do, but she is also lively and has a great desire to work. From an early age, we started preparing for agility, obedience exercises and scent detection, but due to my lack of time, we only train and compete in rally obedience and scent detection. Rey has passed and is competing at the highest level of scent detection and the third level of rally obedience.

We are happy and proud to be participating in the world championship. I believe that Rey will have a great time, and I will gain new experiences and meet wonderful people from all over the world.

Kim Džananovi & Jerry

My name is Kim, I am a physics teacher and a therapeutic riding instructor with 9 horses. In addition to that, I always find time to train and compete with my dogs.

I started rally obedience with Jerry's mother, and when Jerry was born 8.5 years ago, he became a rally obedience dog from the very beginning. Jerry is the second dog in Croatia to pass the highest level of rally obedience, and he is still competing today. He is a dog full of love for everyone, which sometimes drives me a little crazy, but I wouldn't change him for theworld.

I am proud and happy to be part of this amazing story for Croatian rally obedience.

Paula Pincetić &

Nangamai Ebony

My name is Paula and dogs have been my passion for as long as I can remember. My mum says that the first time I smiled was when I was looking at a painting of a boy playing with his dog. It is no wonder that I chose dog boarding as my life's work – the perfect job for someone fascinated with how dogs behave, interact and differ from one another.

I started training rally obedience eighteen years ago when the sport first came to Croatia, and I still love it. It promotes something I find very important: having fun with your dog, whether training or competing. If it isn't fun for both of you, then why do it?

Moira is a dog who loves with all her heart. She enjoys working because we do it together; for her, the best thing in the world is simply being part of a team. She is one of only a few dogs in Croatia who have passed the exam for the highest rally obedience category.

Trixie is my perfect Mali – sweet, eager to work, and always giving 150% in everything she does. At the end of the day, she curls up next to me to sleep. She is my work partner and my protector. At just three years old, she is already competing in the second-highest rally obedience category in Croatia.

Ana-Marija Votuc &
Mangry's Unlock The Powers

My name is Ana-Marija and I live with my fiancé and our 2 dogs in Zaprešić, a small town near Zagreb, the capital of Croatia.

We have a Samoyed named Tobi, who is a true polar dog – intelligent, opinionated and never shy about expressing himself (sometimes a bit too loudly). My partner in this championship, however, is Loki (Mangry's Unlock The Powers), a six-year-old Australian Shepherd. Loki is a true representative of his breed: he loves to learn new things and to be involved in every activity we do – whether it is training, hiking or simply relaxing on the couch.

We are extremely proud and excited to be able to compete in such a big event. We always strive to be a team and to learn something from every experience, and this championship will be another wonderful learning opportunity.

Dora Vrgoč & Tara

My name is Dora and I come from Zagreb.

With my dog Cvita, a Hungarian Vizsla, I have been training in rally obedience for a year and a half. This spring, we passed the second-highest rally obedience exam as part of the national program, and I am proud that as reserves we are participating in the Croatian team at the world championship.

Cvita is a high-energy dog, and working with her is full of challenges. We channel her excess energy through long walks, hiking and swimming, which she loves very much. She is highly motivated to work, and as a team, we enjoy training and learning new exercises. We are still beginners in rally obedience, and there is still much ahead of us to discover and improve.

Leo Brdar

Teamleader

My name is Leo and I live in Zagreb with my dog Dex.I have always loved dogs, but only after rescuing Dex did I truly understand what it means tohave a man's best friend. He is my loyal companion and my greatest teacher – the reason Istarted training and dog sports six years ago. Over the years we have trained in search andrescue, scent detection and rally obedience, and we have passed the exam for the highestrally obedience category.I have been a licensed rally obedience instructor for three years, and I constantly strive toimprove my skills both as a handler and as a trainer. Helping dogs and people inspires me,and there is no better feeling than seeing the bond between a handler and their dog grow –not only on the rally course but also in everyday life. I strongly believe that training should befun for everyone, because true learning comes from joy.I am proud to be the team leader of Croatia's rally obedience team at the worldchampionship. I have followed the progress of these women and their dogs for years, and itis amazing to see how far they have come and what strong bonds they have built with theirdogs.
